A walk along Dawlish Warren

Yesterday, Barney the dog came to visit. I decided to take him out for an early walk, so we took a long walk along the sand dunes and the nature reserve at Dawlish Warren.

The weather forecast was a bit dodgy, high winds were due and a storm was brewing.

We went for a walk along the sand dunes and I managed to get these photographs.

I think they show the calm before the storm arrived.

A Grand Day Out

Last weekend, my sister and niece visited, it was absolutely great to see them both. The weather even obliged and was pretty good, Friday was warm and sunny, Saturday dawned a bit foggy but brightened up as the day went on.

Friday, we had a BBQ at home then went for a walk down to Exeter Quay. My niece was convinced we had visited Cardiff Bay but we managed to correct her.

On Saturday, Barney the dog visited and we took a trip to Simouth, first to the Donkey Sanctuary and then into Sidmouth. We had a great day out, Barney happily walked with us constantly checking his pack was ok, I reckon he walked 2-3 miles on the day. Sidmouth was lovely, really picturesque, and the fog even started to lift as the day went on!

The Bank Holiday Weekend

So August ended with the traditional bank holiday weekend. A welcome break after a hectic August at work.

It was an enjoyable, the weekend being the typical mixed bag of weather we've come to expect with bank holidays in Britain.

Saturday was a rest day, Sunday we had the family to visit and had a barbecue whilst dodging the rain showers. Monday, we were greeted with glorious sunshine. So we had a long but restful walk along the quay followed by brunch at one of the local cafes.

I managed to take some photographs of Exeter Quay and our dog.

The weekend gone and the week ahead!

I enjoyed a restful weekend after a busy week in work. Sunday brought us a stunning day and I spent the day with Rebecca, Barney and the family on a long walk from Budleigh to Otterton Mill and back. It was the first truly spring like day of the year, the sun was out and it was pleasantly warm.We had lunch at Otterton Mill , lunch was brilliant the menu was good and the food was filling and just what we needed after a three mile walk.

By the time we walked back to the cars we had almost walked six miles, I was impressed Barney made it around the circuit, he enjoyed himself out in the sun but he knackered by the time we got home. He hasn't even woken me up the last two mornings!

For all of Barney's fans out there here is a picture of him with his Mummy and our niece.

The week back at Spicer Road has been busy, seeing my patients has been a pleasure and some patients have presented with some complex problems that need repairing. I'm looking forward to solving these problems and repairing the smiles for these patients. I also had the chance to review one of my smile makeover cases today and my patient was still overjoyed with the results that we achieved. Two years in and the result still looks great. I really enjoy this kind of dental work, I just wish I could do it more often. It is really satisfying when you can get great results like this.

Barney, our puppy.

Barney the dog joined our family in October 2009, he's almost six months old now, he's brilliant fun but occasionally a nuisance, especially when he starts barking at just after 5am!
