Well 2016 has no past and is drifting away as memories. Lets look forward and enjoy and experience all that 2017 can give us. Here are a few memories of mine, from walks in beautiful Devon, finally escaping and visiting New York ( a place I'd recommend anyone gets to see at leat once) and some family events (s significant birthday for my Mother). Enjoy the photographs.
This week I have taken a week off and taken some time away from work to recharge my batteries. I have been blessed with great weather and have managed a couple of long walks with the dog, played some golf (unfortunately I didn't play well) and took in two films. On May Day I took the dog for a hike on Dartmoor, we explored Haytor and walked around a nearby quarry. Found a new coffee stand at the Haytor car park, I'd recommend them for coffee, it was very good.
Yesterday, we took a walk around the woods near Killerton House, the bluebells were just starting to bloom making a classic British Spring scene.
I've also taken in two films this week, Captain America:Civil War and Eye in the Sky. Two contrasting movies in both their scope and style but definitely worth watch.
This weekend started warm and sunny, with to days of bright sunshine it was time to get outside and enjoy the sun. The dog and I took a long walk around Topsham in the Sunday sun. Here are some photographs. It was a beautiful day and the tide was coming in and running fast, I also saw a black swan (think he may have escaped from Dawlish)
I've just enjoyed a week away from doing dentistry and now my batteries are feeling fully recharged. The weather has been pretty good for the end of April and early may with rain only affecting a couple of days. Yesterday I decided to explore a part of Devon I had never been to, I decided to take a hike along the SW coast path and explore the coastline between Branscombe and Beer. Both are lovely villages with plenty of character, driving there was a bit hairy travelling along country lanes but we arrived pretty much without incident. The walk was lovely, the scenery amazing, definitely a bit of the Jurassic Coast worth exploring. This is the map of the walk I took with the dog.
Here are some photographs, the scenery was lovely and there plenty of places in either village to stop for a break if it takes your fancy.
I awoke to a cold and frosty morning today. I decided to make the most of it and took the dog for a long walk along Exmouth Beach. The weather wasn't quite as good as yesterday which was bright and clear, today was a bit more overcast and cold. A great way to blow away the winter cobwebs.
