A Week off in May

This week I have taken a week off and taken some time away from work to recharge my batteries. I have been blessed with great weather and have managed a couple of long walks with the dog, played some golf (unfortunately I didn't play well) and took in two films.

On May Day I took the dog for a hike on Dartmoor, we explored Haytor and  walked around a nearby quarry. Found a new coffee stand at the Haytor car park, I'd recommend them for coffee, it was very good.

Yesterday, we took a walk around the woods near Killerton House, the bluebells were just starting to bloom making a classic British Spring scene.

I've also taken in two films this week, Captain America:Civil War and Eye in the Sky. Two contrasting movies in both their scope and style but definitely worth watch.

Some old holiday photographs

After unpacking and sorting out some boxes, I came across photographs from a holiday I took in the Pacific Northwest of America. I travelled from San Francisco to Seattle via, several volcanic peaks that form part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Here are some of the photographs from the early part of the holiday. They include views of San Francisco, parts of the Napa Valley, Mount Lassen in North California and Crater Lake in Oregon.

New home, new start.

Since the last time I wrote, I've moved house and for the first time since I've owned property, I'm in a new build.

This is the area where I now live.

I'm loving being in the new place and felt the time had come for a change and moving my life onward. I think I allowed things to stagnate for the last couple of years and now I've made the first significant change to my life since my divorce. Time to move on and start living life to the full again.

New Year's Eve

I probably haven't written or posted here this year as much as I could have done. Now the year is nearly ended and it is time to look forward to 2016 and look back on the achievements of 2015, both personal and professional.

I carried on with what for me is becoming an annual tradition, taking the dog out for a longer than usual walk with my camera in tow too. December here has been one of the warmest and wettest on record and yesterday we were battered by a pretty fierce winter storm.

I took the chance to explore around the Northern Fringes of Topsham and walked towards the Ex Estuary.

Enjoy the photos, and have a very Happy New Year, may all your wishes for 2016 come true.
